ROLAND CORNELIUS KINSEY Roland Cornelius Kinsey came to Walker County with his parents at the age of fifteen. He was born in Blount County, Alabama on October 23, 1820, the son of Roland and Margaret Kinsey. He spent the rest of his life in and around Villanow. On March 12, 1840, he married Cynthia Price. Cynthia was born June 6, 1820. They had nine children. They were: Daniel M. Kinsey, born April 9, 1841, married Martha A. Fisher. Their children were: John C., William W., Syntha W., and Charity E. Charity Caroline, born November 8, 1844, never married. Died November 1, 1920. William Newton, born January 20, 1846, married Eliza Ann Smith on December 12, 1867. Their children were: James N., Alonzo, Mary, William Felton and Rebecca Ann. Jessie W., born April 27, 1848, married Julie Ann Tuder. Julie Ann was born March 15, 1844, the daughter of Henry and Emiza Eubanks Tuder. Their children were: Nettie, Julius, Laura and Henry. Jessie died December 14, 1941, Julie Ann died December 1, 1919, both are buried in the White Cemetery near Villanow. Julieann Matilda born February of 1850, married Scott Phillips. Mary born in 1852 was married twice. To James Miller and to a Williams. Two of her children were: Robert Luther and Missouri Williams. Sarah Elizabeth, born November 4, 1854, married John Henry Tuder, son of Henry and Emiza Eubanks Tuder. John was born June 6, 1951. Their children were: Mary V., Jessie Roland, William Henry, David, Perry Mack, Sintha Elizabeth and Lillie. Sarah Elizabeth died May 19, 1932, John Henry died May 30, 1926. Margaret was born in 1857. David L. was born in 1859. Cynthia died September 6, 1888. On November 17, 1889, Roland Cornelius married Sarah (Tallent) Roper. On June 1, 1894, he joined Fowlers Chapel Protetant Methodist Church. He was a member there until his death on May 27, 1904. According to Church records at his death he was 83 years 7 months and 4 days old. His funeral was held at Fowlers Chapel with Bro. L.P. White officiating. The scripture for his funeral was taken from 14th Chapter of John, verse one and two. His date of death was May 27, 1904.
