73. Jesse W.5 KINSEY (Roland Cornelius4, Roland3, Peter T.2 Kinsey, Peter1 KINSEY)(517) #1555 was born in Villanow, GA (Walker Co.) April 27, 1848.(518) Jesse died December 14, 1941 in Walker Co., GA, at 93 years of age.(519) His body was interred December 16, 1941 in White Family Cemetery, Villanow, GA (Walker Co.).(520)

He married Julia Ann TUDOR about 1872.(521) (Julia Ann TUDOR #1571.) Julia was born in North Carolina March 15, 1844.(522) She was the daughter of Henry Tuder and Emiza Eubanks. Julia died 12/1/1919 at 75 years of age. Her body was interred in White Family Cemetery, Villanow, GA (Walker Co.).(523) REV. JESSE W. KINSEY One of the finest men the Lord ever made was our grandfather, Rev. Jesse W. Kinsey. He was born 27 April 1847 and died 14 Dec. 1941. He was born and raised 2 1/2 miles from Villanow on the Pocket Road near the Furnace Creek. He was a small man in stature but he was a giant to those who knew him; he was lovingly called "Uncle Jesse." Grandpa was a preacher for many years, he held Sunday School in his home every 'Sunday morning and he held preaching services every third Sunday in his home. His wife, Julia Ann Tudor, was a midwife and she delivered many of the neighborhood children. Grandpa ran his own blacksmith shop, he built the coffin we was buried in. He would go (anytime he was called upon to do so) late at night to doctor the neighbors' cows and horses, so I guess he was the veterinarian, also. Grandpa would never turn away strangers; our mother, Bertie Kinsey, has prepared many a meal for tramps and beggars who would pass through our settlement and stop by our house. He said you might turn Jesus away and not know it. Grandpa made a pact with his lifelong friend, Rev. Claud Tate, that which ever one passed away first, the other was to preach his funeral. Claud had to preach Grandpa's on 16 Dec. 1941. Claud lived several years longer than Grandpa. Grandpa lived to be 92 years old; he plowed a field when he was in his nineties. He never did get real sick, he said his body just got old and worn out. He was the father of four children, two daughters and two sons: Laura Stansell, Nettie White, Henry Kinsey and Julius Kinsey. He had nine grandchildren: Leo Stansell, Elva Stansell Gatlin, Nine White Davis, Annie White Shaw, Roy Kinsey, Andy Kinsey, Gordon Kinsey, Flora Kinsey Stephenson and Ruth Kinsey Carson. He was a good friend to all who knew him. Words cannot express the sorrow we felt when we lost him. This is written by his granddaughters. Flora Stephenson and Ruth Carson. __________________________________________________ ___ 1900 Census, Sheet 17, line 15, ED 188 Walker Co., GA
