18. Robert Perry "Bob"³ PHILLIPS (Stephen B.², Stephen¹)⁽⁸⁰⁷⁾ #1461 was born in Tennessee August 17, 1856.⁽⁸⁰⁸⁾ Robert died 1939.⁽⁸⁰⁹⁾

He married Martha Christina BOWERS about 1885. (Martha Christina BOWERS #1480.) Martha was born in Walker Co., GA September 4, 1867.(810) 1870 Census -age 2 thus birth year 1868 She was the daughter of Henry Y. L. BOWERS and Amanda Caroline Templeton.

Martha died 1942.⁽⁸¹¹⁾ Stephen B. Phillips moved to Walker County in 1866 from Bradley County, TN. He traded farms with "Uncle Buddy" Rodgers who moved to Bradley County. The farm was located at Cassandra, near Frick's Cave at the foot of Lookout Mountain. The two-story home, built in 1850's by Amos Ryan is still a beautiful home and owned by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Alford. Mrs. Maude Johnson, granddaughter of Stephen B., supplied much information and has his family Bible. Before moving to Bradley County about 1851, they lived in Greenville County, South Carolina on Reedy River for many years. Maude Phillips gave the following information to Doris Hetzler in 1970: Her father, Bob Phillips was 9 years old when his family swapped their farm in Tennessee with "Uncle Billy" rogers whose farm was in Walker County. Later known as Cassandra. She said about that time the War had ended and they had to free the slaves. The farm had slves quarters which stood for a long time. Stephen B. Phillips is listed in the Walker County History by James Sartain as one of the early settlers of Kensington area. Andrew Meyers name is signed as witness on Phillip old deed purchasing more land 25 Jan 1869 and he wrote his name with "s" on Meyers.Robert P., youngest son of Stephen B., stayed on his father's farm at Cassandra and reared a family of five children - "Walker Co. 21 iii. James Tom PHILLIPS⁽⁸¹⁵⁾ #1486 was born in Cassandra, GA (Walker Co.) November 4, 1895.⁽⁸¹⁶⁾ Census records birthdate as Oct 1894 James died 1937. His body was interred 1937 in Coulter Cemetery, Cassandra, GA (Walker Co.). Fled to Tulsa when he and Robert Henry were arrested for bootlegging

22 iv. Sallie Belle PHILLIPS⁽⁸¹⁷⁾ #1487 was born in Cassandra, GA (Walker Co.) February 20, 1899.⁽⁸¹⁸⁾

23 v. Mary Mae PHILLIPS⁽⁸¹⁹⁾ #1488 was born in Cassandra, GA (Walker Co.) May 4, 1902.⁽⁸²⁰⁾ Mary died November 27, 1983 in Georgia, at 81 years of age.⁽⁸²¹⁾ Her body was interred in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (near Coolidge, GA).⁽⁸²²⁾ -Possibly Mary May -Mary killed her husband Stone also married to Claude Davis (?)
